Explanation (repeated)

You may have noticed that Death Among the Undead has been published, but remains unavailable. This is due to a quirk whereby Publishers Weekly cannot recognize ISBN numbers beginning with 979, so I am forced to use Amazon’s own ASIN, which in turn means I have to “publish” the book and then make it immediately unavailable. Rest assured, it will be available in tpb and ebook soon.

The reason I am willing to jump through hoops is that PW plans to do a feature on the author, Masahiro Imamura, whose book was an overnight sensation in Japan

  1. I’m always looking forward to the next translation, but Death Among the Undead is a special one as I’ve been banging on about it ever since reading Ho-Ling’s review. I predict Death Among the Undead will become the flagship title of the LRI catalog.

  2. I think that this is not only the most exciting release of the year thus far, but that it’s very likely to be the most exciting of the year, full stop. I’m rather behind on LRI’s translations, courtesy of this blasted pandemic, but I can’t think of a better place to start catching up!
